Accompanied by the Minister of Information and Communications Technologies, David Luna; the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Juan Guillermo Zuluaga; Giuseppe Lavazza, Vice President of Lavazza; Marco Casarin, Microsoft Colombia CEO; Kevin Connolly of Microsoft Corporation; Andrea Londoño, CEO of ALO&Partners, and Vivian Vásquez from Carcafé and other executives, President Juan Manuel Santos met on March 15, 2018 with the coffee growers and inhabitants of Mesetas, beneficiaries of the “Technological Transformation” project.
An empowered community in their region thanks to the implementation of new technological instruments that, starting from the connectivity TV White Space, incorporate into their lives new sources not only of training but also of social and economic well-being, including telemedicine and training in precision agricultural techniques.
The “Transformación Tecnológica” Project is the first project in Colombia that unites TVWS technology with productive processes, technological appropriation, empowerment of the value chain and telemedicine, in this case aimed at the coffee sector.

The TVWS projects are part of the government agenda of President Juan Manuel Santos, who in 2016 inaugurated the first project at the Río Arriba school, Aguadas-Caldas, thus starting the use of TVWS technology that will connect the rural sector more isolated from Colombia.
